A ganglion cyst is a liquid-filled lump-type substance that appears below the skin near joints and tendons. They occur near the wrist or hands, ankles, or legs. A ganglion cyst is also known as bible cyst. They are sticky, thick, colorless, clear, jelly-type material from the inside, depending on the size of the lump. Small ganglion cysts are pea-sized and can cause pain if pressed against any nerve.

Evacuating this cyst can only reduce the swelling not remove it completely as the chances are 10% for it to return. You may also face problems such as constant pain, losing wrist movement, and distressing nerve pain after surgery.

Clearing this ganglion can be helpful but dangerous as it is close to the artery(nerves).

This looks and feels like a small pea at the bottom of the finger and causes pain while gripping also it has a chance to come back.

In this, it wears out of the end joint of the finger, severe pressure can cause a furrow too although the fluid leaks through the underlying skin and has a chance of coming back.

The exact cause of ganglion cysts is unknown, but they are thought to be related to repetitive joints that can stress the joint capsule or tendon sheath, causing it to weaken and leak fluid. Ganglion cysts are also more common in people with certain medical conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
1.Observation:This involves monitoring the cyst to see if it changes in size or symptoms.
Immobilization: This may be done with a splint or cast to rest the affected joint and reduce inflammation.
2.Aspiration:This involves draining the fluid from the cyst using a needle.
3.Surgery:This is usually only recommended for ganglion cysts that are large, painful, or do not respond to other treatments.
It is important to note that Ayurvedic treatments for ganglion cysts are not a substitute for conventional medical care. If you have a ganglion cyst, it is important to see a doctor to get a diagnosis and discuss treatment options.
There is no guarantee to prevent ganglion cysts. However, there are a few things that may help reduce your risk, such as:
Avoiding repetitive joint movement.
Wear splints and braces to support your joints.
Warm up before physical activity and stretching afterward.
Maintain a healthy weight.
In Ayurveda, ganglion cysts are classified as a type of “granthi”, which is a general term for any type of swelling. Granthis are thought to be caused by an imbalance of the doshas, which are the three energies that govern the body and mind: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
The specific Ayurvedic treatment for ganglion cysts will vary depending on the individual’s doshic constitution and the severity of the cyst. However, some common treatments include:
